Yep, exactly as described. I'm a novice and it took me 5 minutes to drill and insert nipples. Best product ever. Put 5 on the bottom of a 5 Gal Home Depot bucket and can maintain my 11 chickens for 7 days before I have to empty the bottom 3 inches and refill it again. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: BE CAREFUL NOT TO SET THE DEVICE THAT THE NIPPLES ARE CONNECTED TO DIRECTLY ON THE GROUND AS YOU WILL BREAK THE THREADS AND/OR NIPPLES. Just get a brick or something that is taller than the nipples so they sit off the ground. YOU DON'T NEED TO TEACH THE CHICKENS HOW TO DRINK FROM THESE. Just take their water dish away and they will find and peck this out of curiosity. They'll train themselves the first time they come in contact with it and the red will attract them. And when one finds it, the others will find it too (because they are also curious).
