I have several Tweezerman slant tweezers bought many years ago. I bought this new one to replace one I lost. Sadly, Tweezerman tweezers are not what they once were. They are no longer made in Italy, but in India and the quality has suffered. Compared to my old Tweezerman tweezers, this one is lighter, thinner and lacking the same sturdy spring-back when squeezed and released. It just feels flabby. The tips are closely aligned, as they should be, but they are unpleasantly sharp for an instrument that is supposedly hand-polished. Even the engraved name on the side lacks the fine detail of the old logo. I don't know how the current Tweezerman tweezers compare to the competition, but compared to the original Tweezermans, it's a big disappointment to receive a second-rate product. In addition, Amazon's description fails to mention the country of manufacture and the photo is of an old Tweezerman tweezer with the original logo, not the present one. Tweezerman's reputation for quality was built by the company's founder Dal LaMagna. Not only were his designs and manufacturing superb, but he donated a portion of company profits annually to various charities. I assume he made that commitment to social responsibility continue as part of the deal when he sold the company to J.A. Henckels in 2004, and that's great. However, Henckels has definitely cheapened the product.
