New book, old occupation talking points,
Standard hasbara talking points. Noa makes many claims regarding the last century which can easily be disproven. Some of the most ahistorical center around the idea that Israeli officials didn't intend to expel palestinians and that they left presuming there would be an arab attack. That is simply a lie. There were many massacres where Palestinian noncombattants were killed as a strategy to expand the nascent Jewish state. She also points out the poor treatment of palestinian refugees, but they literally aren't lebanese or jordanian. They are palestinian. While the right of Jews to return to Israel is a fair thing for her, she objects to Palestinians returning to the land they were ethnically cleansed from. Many survivors of the Nakba are still alive. Noa is a good writer but her political preferences are essentially human rights violations. Refugees should have the option of repatriation once conflict is over. But frankly the spin isn't that new so I am mostly disappointed that there aren't any innovative takes from her.
