Window shade remote takes 2 AAA batteries. I bought a 16-pack of Duracell, and the first two I tried didn't work. Hmm... Took those out and tried two more from the fresh pack. Still no juice! What?! I retrieved the 2 Panasonic batteries that I had put in the trash and tried them. Bingo! The shades rolled up and down like a charm. (I change batteries yearly, not not just when they die out.) The 5-star company I ordered from "does not offer refunds." LOL 5 stars from whom?? The Amazon rep I spoke to quickly and graciously did offer me a refund, however. BTW, I had called Duracell first, and they said "Don't buy batteries online." The AA I bought at the same time from another company on Amazon are working great, but the AAA were junk.
