I tried using this to find the property pins for my yard but it didn't work. I recently put a fence in and uncovered one marker so i knew where that pin was in the backyard, this metal detector couldn't find it even though it was less than 2 inches underground. I decided to bring it inside to try and adjust the settings. I placed a few coins on my floor and tried again this time it picked up the coins as nails. When i moved the detector away from everything it starting "beeping" and showing that there were gold rings under my carpet. I assure you there are no rings under my carpet especially since i helped install the carpet five years prior. I can't recommend this product even as a beginner metal detector.
