Only facts
First, I'd like to start by saying that unlike some people I was not paid by Bethesda and I am not part of "brigade" from "r/fo76/" subreddit, so I am able to actually leave an honest impression. I did purchase it and I also played in BETA, so here is everything that is bad with this game right now (this might change later with future patches):
1) You will constantly encounter, and suffer through, the carry weight limit and the stash limit. Meaning you will be forced to spend significant amount of time on thinking "what can I drop and what can I leave", as well as constantly traveling to your CAMP (if you can't find a stash box nearby) to drop stuff off your inventory. Even with Power Armor equipped, weight-reducing perks and some points in Strength attribute this is NOT fun to do in a loot-oriented game. Same goes for stash storage limit, which is currently capped at 400. This may be increased later but right now this is extremely annoying since this WILL force you to either destroy stuff if you can't currently use it or trade it for caps at NPC vendor (if you will manage to find a vendor who still has caps because the vendors have a limit of 200 caps which can take a very long time to replenish), especially if you don't have friends to give your stuff away.
2) CAMP build budget limit. Yet another limitation that prevents you from building large housing since every built structure takes up a large chunk of "building budget" and as soon as you'll use it up - you can't build anything else. Again, this is also pretty annoying limitation, especially considering that there's plenty of building spaces.
3) Unacceptable lack of communication options in a MULTIPLAYER game. If you don't have a microphone or cannot use voice (for example, you're a mute or cannot speak for various reasons) - you CANNOT communicate with strangers you meet. There is no text chat of any kind. Yes, you've heard this right. No text chat. In a multiplayer game. In 2018. Even the voice chat is currently flawed - the game defaults to "open microphone", meaning if you have microphone enabled - everyone around you will CONSTANTLY hear every sound in your room, unless you or other players manually disable voice chat or set it to "team" option. Supposedly "push-to-talk" will come later, but right now it's not in the game.
4) Pointless, boring, NON-OPTIONAL PvP system. Right now, you can barely damage the player (the player must be above level 5 for you to do so) unless the player shoots you back and when you kill another player - all you can loot is the "junk" items that player had, nothing more. You also cannot loot anything from other player's CAMPs and players can instantly rebuild everything you destroy, even if you drop a nuke onto them. No, I do NOT participate in PvP but it is pretty obvious to me that the PvP in current implementation is not fun for ANYONE (neither for attacker since it can take a lot of time to kill another player if that player doesn't want to shoot back and since attackers can't loot anything useful aside from "junk" items nor for the person who is not interested in PvP at all since others can still annoy you by killing you and destroying your CAMP) and Bethesda should've completely removed it until private servers with custom rules will be allowed (so some of the players would be able to prevent any kind of PvP and another kind of players would be able to remove current PvP limitations completely).
5) Bugs, bugs, bugs. Yes, this is a Bethesda game but things like enemies being "stuck" inside the wall/floors or floating in the air or suddenly respawning on top of you out of nowhere should NOT be happening. Same goes of "accidental" exploits which allow you to duplicate many items and consumables.
6) Ancient, poorly performing Gamebryo-based engine. Yes, Bethesda is still using it. Yes, it still performs bad even on console hardware. Yes, you will still be unable to change some game settings (like unlock your FPS past 63fps so you could enjoy your 120/144 hz expensive monitor). Yes, it is 2018. And yes, they will still be using it even for future games.
7) There are no human NPCs. I do not have a problem with it (I bought the game to play with a couple of friends) but if you do - this is something you should be aware of. Most of the NPCs are either robots or non-human traders (don't want to spoil anything). There are also no AI companions of any kind. So if you will play it alone - the world might feel very empty, especially if the "auto-placement" system will place you on a server with very few or no other players (yes, this is possible) and especially if you will be unable to use voice chat for some reason.
I could go on with more drawbacks but these should be enough to tell you that the game in current state is NOT worth $60 for most of the people, especially if you play this alone. If you still want to give it a try - WAIT for it to drop in price (to less than half the current price), for more patches to be released (which should at least fix the voice chat and some bugs/exploits) and for custom servers to appear.
