Really disappointed Neither story nor characters were interesting
I was looking forward to this new series but I have to admit after having watched the first episode I was really disappointed. It starts with the cruelties of slavery but I’ve seen that before and man’s inhumanity to man is not a draw. Next, there’s not an interesting character amongst the cast. I was literally waiting for something to happen to catch my attention and it never did. I’m still going to watch a few more episodes to see if things change but as of now I can’t really recommend this show.
PS - Some people have complained that the show isn't realistic but if you watch past episode 1 you'll see that the story includes elements of magical realism.
