Are you kidding me? Yeah, he sounds like a real winner.
I couldn't get past 12% of this book. Angie was beyond annoying. **POSSIBLE SPOILERS** It makes no sense that she would rush to warn an absolute stranger of possible assassins and put herself directly in the line of fire when she knows that they are currently tracking him down to kill him. Why would you not alert the authorities??? And then when they are running from the men who are looking to kill Alastair, she actually feels the need to stop and balk at the idea of riding on his motorcycle. Um....priorities. Then when they return to his home to retrieve some of his belongings, she again wastes time by mocking his choice of name for his dog. Who cares? This is pointless. She seems completely ignorant to the severity of the situation. The Hero wasn't that appealing either. He says to the heroine and I quote, "Are you okay or should I bitch slap you?" Are you kidding me? Yeah, he sounds like a real winner.
Her sister's name is Cinnamon. Really, a character named Cinnamon and another named Honeybun. Too cutesy for me.
Lastly, a was very confused by the stupid cab driver. They had to repeatedly yell at her to drive. I assume this is to build tension as the killers are closing in on the two main characters but it was simply annoying. The driver then states that she can't drive fast with a "baby on board" in which she is referring to the dog. This scene seemed pointless and had no relevance to the story.....or maybe it did; I don't know because I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
