I did not press the lid but the lid cracked in the middle after I took it out of microwave. I called the customer service, and they said "that's because you improperly used it in a microwave. We recommend heating food in 30 second intervals. We do not recommend heating for 2 minutes continuously!" ...did I hear it right? I said "then it is practically NOT microwave safe. Who would heat up in 30 sec intervals?" "It is microwave safe!" They are going to replace the lid after all, but I was surprised how they could claim these containers are microwave safe. By the way, when I told my name to the customer service, she said "oh god, you need to spell that!!" in a very rude way. I did not give myself a Japanese name. The lid replacement was not a worth the terrible experience with Rubbermaid customer service.
