I was actually very excited about finding a tea kettle with a manual temperature gauge. I was very disappointed to spend this much money on a tea kettle only to find out that the inside of the kettle is ENTIRELY lined in plastic. I didn't even notice until I had brewed a cup of tea - I could taste the plastic. I immediately packed it up for a return and continued searching for a better alternative. While I have found only one or two kettles with absolutely no plastic inside, there are many with only minimal plastic that comes in contact with the water. I would recommend looking for one of these alternatives.
