Just wanted to notify others that this unit caused an electrical fire. I have a Kiddie Carbon Monoxide Detector, Model Number:KN-COPP-3, Assembly Number 900-0076, Date of MFG2011, March 18. Unit was plugged into wall outlet and failed for no apparent reason. The unit had been plugged in for a number of years before it failed. Fortunately the breakers kicked off on the electrical panel. I removed the CO unit as well as the wall outlet and found that it had actually caught fire and melted the outlet and burned the wires. As a 31 year plus career fire fighter, this could have had devastating results if this had occurred during the night time hours.
