This isn't the first time we have seen/heard about Knight and Luna. In some of Shen's other books we've heard about these characters. It's strange because Knight and Luna were supposed to be inseparable and Knight was said to be her protector... There are tidbits of the past, shown to us through their memories (those were perfection... I wish there had been more) but during this book? Don't count on seeing any of what you're expecting! So much crap with other guys/girls. Which, is never something I enjoy reading about. We see how they hurt each other, time and time again. Then they apart for large portions during the beginning to middle of the book. We see absolutely zero of the inseparable relationship we've been fed. Knight was definitely swoon worthy... At least until the part where he let Luna go on believing he was a manw*r*e... Only to freak out when she moved on. And how he treated her? Ugh. Then add in his issues/struggles and I felt like this book was too reminiscent of Dean's issues... At least for me. Speaking of Dean/Rosie, I did feel like the story line was authentic/true to itself when dealing with someone who has a terminal illness. Yet, this is fiction and romance at that... I couldn't see much of a point in handling things the way they played out. There wasn't even any growth or character development from Knight until maybe the last 3% or so which was another reason I couldn't give this even 2/3 stars. I can't explain it but this book didn't do it for me. I was beyond excited for Lunight but once I settled in to this story it never quite "clicked" for me. For how much we've heard about how their friendship was epic and written in the stars... This book didn't make me feel it. Especially not when all we were shown in this was one horrible interaction after another. I'm bummed! I wanted to feel it in my bones!!!
