I purchased the Poundex F6974 couch on 5/24/2019. It arrived 2 weeks after. Ever since, I’ve noticed a pungent smell. I have cleaned, deodorized, sanitized and shampooed the upholstery/wood. Ever since it’s been in my home, I have developed a cough, trouble breathing, wheezing, a burning throat, lost my voice & developed a fever. I was unable to work for 2 days due to my respiratory/flu like symptoms. I’ve done research on chemicals released from furniture made in China. VCO’s are known inhabitants of factory made furniture & require off-gassing. I have since let the couch “air out” outdoors for days & I still have a physical reaction to it. My roommate has had no reaction whatsoever & can only smell a hint of the chemicals. (Individuals with allergies are more sensitive/susceptible to the effects.) I ordered a formaldehyde test from Amazon to test the air levels in my apartment. The results are beyond a safe level of formaldehyde in a domain. This is after I put half the couch on my balcony covered in a tarp I purchased so it wouldn’t get wet. I covered the other half that is still indoors with moving blankets to try & alleviate any toxins from further harming my health. I leave all doors/windows open with ceiling fans running to ensure air circulation & the test still showed a high level of toxins unsafe for a household. This has caused me physical pain, time & monetary loss to try & remedy. This is affecting my health, well being & everyday life.
