There's a diffence in a strong woman and a b*tch
Allow me to share the quotes that made me stop reading this book....
"Everyone knew more about that stuff than Jamie did, Allison thought, though she kept her mouth shut."
"Women are wiser than men in everything that counts, ” Allison declared. “ Let me do the dress. ”"
Both of these happen during the first date between the main characters. Wow can you say b*tch? This woman, Allison, seriously is rude, judgemental, and unforgiving with Jamie from the second her calls her for help...which is part of her job, a part of her job she is supposedly so upset about being cut. She ignores the fact that he is stepping up to learn how to be a father to a newborn he just found out about. He never considers deciding to not be the single parent to this little girl that was literally left on his doorsteps. He simply seeks helps and moves forward. Instead she just focuses on the feet that he had sex on vacation....shocking....9 months earlier. He's a terrible person because although he used condoms, they failed and the woman he genially liked gave him fake information and he couldn't find her after vacation. It's also apparently a crime that he is successful in his writing career and is quite wealthy. Another strike against him is that he tries to take her out to a fancy restaurant for a first date and brought her an expensive bouquet. And honestly she seems annoyed that he has a baby around all the time which is strange for someone who works labor and delivery as well as a class teaching skills to new parents. She would be the absolute worst nurse especially a nurse that works on a maternity floor. She is the only reason I'm not going to finish this book.
I really liked Jamie and wished he had a better leading lady. He's funny and sexy. He jumps right into being a dad with no questions or malice towards the mom. He just wants the baby to have a good life and stay out of foster care. He tries to find balance in his life after becoming a dad. He would be a great book boyfriend if I could finish the book.
