NOT Aames or other military contractor as advertised! If this was produced by a US military contractor it would have NSN numbers STAMPED on it as well as the manufacturer name. This is a Chinese copy with the name "FRUITEAM" etched onto the straight part of the handle shaft. All saw and shovel edges are dull and rounded. Bright silver washer between lock nut and hinge rattles and the mechanism doesn't stay tight for long. If you search for this brand you can find their shovels much cheaper than what the seller charges for this as an Aames or other contractor brand. I would return it, but I want to see how well it actually holds up to use. I've got some gardening to do and it might be useful in the flower beds if it holds up.
