Sellers get away with falsely labeling products as organic ALL THE TIME. This hemp wick is packaged and described in a way to make it SEEM like it is organic (meaning produced according to organic growing standards), but there is no official certification disclosed anywhere. The reason companies and advertisers can get away with this dishonesty is because of a linguistic loophole: the word organic has several meanings. For example, in chemistry, anything that is carbon-based is considered organic. So according to that definition, this product would be "organic" even if it were made out of synthetic string and synthetic wax! So if organic standards are important for you, look for the phrase "certified organic" or a stamp from a certifier, such as the USDA ORGANIC logo. Furthermore, this hemp wick is made in China, so it may be impossible to trace it back to its producer to find out how it's really made or what it's really made out of. You would have to do a chemical analysis to know for sure!
