I am so upset, I could spit nails!! First I didn't particularly like this gown because of the collar. It rides up on your neck and balls up against the pillow. Very annoying! But it is very pretty and looks good, so I kept it as a backup. When I picked up my nightgowns from the cleaners, I had an ugly surprise: This one was torn to shreds in the front!! The owner of the laundry, whom I have done business with for years, explained and showed me the problem. The ripped panel was of a completely different quality and thread count than the rest of the gown!! It might have been a mistake, or a deliberate attempt by the manufacturer to save some money, by introducing flimsy fabric here and there into a garment. Since my time for a return had expired, Amazon would do nothing about this matter at first, but since I would not let the matter rest, they finally, begrudgingly, offered me a $ 5.00 credit to my account and the phone number of the manufacturer. I own every one of the Victorian gowns in this line and regularly take them to the laundry, since it would take me hours to wash, starch and iron them to perfection, and I haven't had any problems with those yet. Had I known in advance that I was being defrauded in a rather sneaky way, I would never have bought another nightgown from this designer. I certainly will NOT in the future. I also feel that Amazon shouldn't have brushed me off, but investigated the issue further. As the distributor of these nightgowns, their good name is on the line, too.
