But ended in bust... The premise of this novel remains wonderful, but I was terribly disappointed when the story devolved into a mushy and VERY religious love story. Frankly, I don't know why I expected anything else. Ms. Moody has done a wonderful job with research, and truly brings this sadly unknown story to life. I have received a wonderful history lesson in reading this book. Perhaps teaching history through storytelling needs to be studied more closely!! I became more and more dismayed, though, as the focus shifted to the romance between Danny and Anya; even more dismaying in my eyes were the add-on religious references. I very nearly put the book down any number of times as these references became more and more frequent. I feel strongly that references to religious figures should be kept at a minimum, NO MATTER WHICH RELIGION. They can be very irritating to those of us who don't share those particular views. And worse, they detracted from Ms. Moody's wonderful story!! I am nearly certain that my review will be offensive to many....
