Unsafe For Food Service
They stopped making knives like this over 20 years ago. These knives are not Stainless Steel, possibly not even steel, and are certainly unsafe for food service. I work in a fine dining kitchen with a high reputation, and my Head Chef QUICKLY instructed me to stop using them, and return them if at all possible, which I'm PROMPTLY in the process of. The knives almost immediately discolored after short term use, even with the up-most care, and these types of knives are known to cause Tetanus/Lockjaw over time if not maintained, and eventually will even if they ARE maintained. Furthermore, they're made in Pakistan, a fact that I failed to find ANYWHERE on the item or the seller, and they are certainly not Damascus steel, the patterns are asymmetrical on both sides, and feel engraved as opposed to being part of the forging process. Sharp as hell, and certainly pretty, they're worthless aside from a decoration. Don't waste your time if you're a serious chef looking for a serious knife set. I was fooled by the incredible aesthetics, and am frankly embarrassed to have shown up to work with these. I'm awaiting my refund currently. Don't be fooled by reviews of others who bought these as a gift for their kids/siblings/spouses. These are not as advertised.
