Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

The Good: this show has some of the best CGI, and cinematography I've ever seen and pretty good costume designs aside from one of the dwarves who ahs an obvious seem where there prosthetic nose meets their face. The Bad: Literally everything else, this show has THE WORST character writing I've ever seen, the characters motives make little to no sense in correlation with their actions, the dialog is absolutely wretched to say the least with nearly every elven character speaking in in metaphors but in like the elves of Tolkien's works the metaphors make no sense, "do you know why a rock sinks and a boat floats.... its because rocks look down and boats look up." WHAT?! what does that even mean... if you were to say something like "rocks are weighed down by earthly affairs but boats rise above such depths of darkness" or any number of other metaphors that actually make a little sense then there would be a real connection between the poetic words you're speaking and the logic you are trying to convey but "rocks look down and boats look up" that has to be the worst line of character dialog this decade. The plot is terrible executed even though I can see potential but the only reason I can see potential is because I know a lot about the world Tolkien wrote and can see where these plot points might end up... that is if the writers can ever take these ideas where they need to go but this show hasn't shown that they are headed that way yet. It's really hard to judge the acting in a show with such horrible character writing and dialog... it just doesn't seem like the actors/actresses have been given enough to work with to actually make good performance, if the best actor in the world is given a terribly written character to play... nobody will like that character due entirely to the writing so hopefully the writing will get better or at least good enough for the actors/actresses to show their talent. Dear amazon, criticizing your show is not "inappropriate content", especially when all criticism is fair and based off the shows actual characteristics and does not violate any of your community guidelines for posting reviews, I watched this show.... I didn't like it... so I'm leaving this review to explain why I didn't like it.
