I bought this iced tea maker as an upgrade to a different Mr. Coffee Brand Iced Tea maker after the plastic pitchers were cracking every few months. I liked that the glass pitcher was dishwasher safe and was hopeful that the daily use would not crack this pitcher as it had the previous plastic models. It brews delicious tea and at first I was thrilled with my purchase. After about 3 weeks of use and 2-3 trips through the dishwasher, the lid for the pitcher warped to the point that it no longer sits inside the pitcher. Now, when I pour, the lid actually falls off the top. I was trying to make do with this, but was very disappointed. This morning, after about 5-6 weeks of daily use, the pitcher shattered at the bottom when I put the ice inside. All I did was put a handful of ice into the pitcher and it cracked and broke into pieces as soon as the ice hit the bottom. In theory, this was going to be a great purchase I was so excited about, but it reality I would just prefer to replace the cheaper plastic pitchers every year. I did contact Mr. Coffee since this has a 1-year warranty. The pitcher is not covered under the warranty. I tried to buy a replacement but Amazon does not carry the replacement pitcher (or any other replacement parts website I could easily find). I was only able to find the replacement pitchers through Mr. Coffee's website (which does not have free shipping unless you spend at least $50). After buying a pitcher and shipping it, I could just purchase a brand new iced tea maker with the plastic pitchers.
