★☆☆☆☆
Disappointing at best
Being a FRIENDS fan, I automatically downloaded this one. 57 pages in, it’s obvious this book is so badly written, I’m not sure if I’ll finish. As an avid reader of memoirs, I know a good one, and this is not a good one. As an example he is actually claiming at nine months old he remembers being abandoned by his father. Ridiculous. Bottom line, lots of people have a unique story to tell, but not everyone knows how to write it in a way that the reader can emphasize, sympathize or just relate. Otherwise it just comes off as whining, which is what this book does. Examples of excellent writing: Angela’s Ashes, The Glass Castle, The Tender Bar. This book is not even close. Unfortunate. The story is there and the audience is there….but the actual writing is almost unreadable.
