Comfort Products Kool Kooshion quality continues to crater
Comfort Products Kool Kooshion quality continues to crater - not worth purchasing any more.
1. As of sometime in the 2000s - they switched to use of quick-to-deteriorate, thin, weak, black "fabric" on one side instead of the same heavy duty open weave low thread count, high air flow fabric on both sides as had been manufactured for decades. This renders the cushion no longer reversible. The cushion has about HALF of the useful life, at best; not even taking into account how quickly the thin black material now used on one side starts coming apart.
2. As of 2018 - The latest plummet to USELESS is the use of CLOSED WEAVE fabric on what is now the top side - COMPLETELY DEFEATING THE PURPOSE OF THE CUSHION! It is supposed to be a VENTILATED cushion! See photos of 2018 seat side material vs. Kool Kooshion purchased in 2017. The weave of the 2017 top side material was still close enough to the material as used ever since I started buying ventilated seat cushions in the late 1960s. The 2017 top side fabric has apertures about 3/32 inch square, the 2018 fabric is of closed weave - NO ventilation apertures, thus defeating the purpose of the cushion. The blue fabric shown is the 2017 top side fabric, the black is the 2018 top side fabric. The rule shown in the photos is inches with 1/16 inch divisions.
3. Fabric now made of PAPER! Paper thread cannot possibly hold up as well as nylon or polyester. Even cotton fabric made of 6 cord or 8 cord (T 400 or 600) thread would be better than PAPER!
4. The internal wire frame stills seems okay, thankfully, but I will NOT be purchasing any more Comfort Products Kool Kooshions unless they start making cushions again having fabric of nylon or polyester, of open weave construction THAT ALLOWS VENTILATION TO OCCUR as shown in photo of 2017 fabric - on BOTH SIDES of the cushion - THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE MADE, AND WOULD BE MADE BY ANY MANUFACTURER WHO CARED ABOUT QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
