I like to make sourdough, but making it by hand is a nightmare. Here is the thing with this mixer, if you are making heavy doughs with this thing, it is not going to last. Look at the video I posted as an example. You can see and hear the machine flexing & cracking so its only a matter of time before this breaks. You need a solid metal body/frame. It's like trying to put a plastic suspension on a car. Don't want to drop $300 on a Kitchen-Aid but want something that will last? I just picked up the Cuisinart SM-50BC 5.5-Quart Stand Mixer.. its around $70 more than this product but the build quality is 200% better its solid metal. It's beautiful. Flour, salt, yeast.. repeat : )
