Don't buy this for the 4K / 3D / HDMI 1.4a reason!
This review is for the model: VHD-Pluto. If you buy it for the "HDMI v1.4a; 4Kx2K@30Hz and 3D" feature, you will be very disappointed. Mine did not work for 4K so I took mine apart. Sure enough the circuit board is same as what is in VHD-1X2MN3D. For less tech savvy folks, the VHD-Pluto is exactly the same as VHD-1X2MN3D, which can only support to HDMI V1.3. For the technical folks, the core chip is the same Sil9187 that is used in many other 1x2 splitter. It can only support to HDMI 1.3. You can find the chip info here: [...] I guess it is called Pluto for a reason.
I have spent decent amount of time looking for a splitter that can support 4K video. I have bought 4 different brands with same form factors, from Frys, Newegg, and Amazon. All those splitters used same schematic design. Some has better PCB quality and some is just POS. All falsely claimed 4K support. My conclusion is, with this price range, you will not be able to get any 4K capable splitter.
