Anthony’s ruined perfection. Every weekend for four years my son, with many food allergies, and I have made cassava flour tortillas for his catch all bread/buns/grain and he and mom might add a cassava cookie batch. Amazon can verify purchase – it was always Anthony’s. They have changed the product. I’m sure it’s still pure but it is no longer a flour. It’s an almond colored sand. The descriptions and images of the product in the ad are the old version. It was a white, soft flour, with the consistency to bake anything. A standard tortilla batch is 1.5 cups flour to 6 to 7 tbsp oil plus ¾ cup water. The images above in the bowl is with 22 tbsp of oil and it still does not stick together. I tried three bags as I order in bunches and hoped it was just a bad bunch. All the same. Three separate attempts at finding a binding agent. 6 lbs in the trash. If I sound pissed I am. Not for the money (oddly the price did go up) but it’s Sunday afternoon, we have everything set up and ready and 2 hours later I have to try and find a place to get cassava flour tonight. It’s not readily available here. We’d love any recommendations for an alternative longterm cassava. Below is my review from a year ago of a 5 star product: The youngest has ceiliac (no wheat) and is allergic to corn, rice, and nuts. This makes gluten free replacements hard. Anthony's Cassava flour has been a life saver. Each weekend we make a batch of tortillas to act as utility men in many meals and then use it for all baking needs. It tastes good, is easy to cook with, and the price on Amazon is much better than any other brand we've seen in a store. It's a specialty flour at local places = $$. We're well over 20 bags used, no sign of slowing down. Best of luck if you have food allergies of your own. This really helped us.
