We bought a 6’ carpet runner for in front of a sliding door going to the outside. The flooring by the slider is hardwood and the carpet did not have a nonslip backing. We thought we would try these nonskid corner pads to keep the carpet from slipping and so far they seem to be working well. The pads have one side that has a sticky adhesive on it which is made to adhere to the back of the carpet. The other side of the pad that contacts the floor has no adhesive, but has a rubbery silicone feel to it. They seem to hold the rug in place well and even requires some gentle tugging on the corners to lift the rug for repositioning. So far there has been no signs of residue or damage to our hard wood floors. The product description does advise lifting the rug once a week to break the grip which we will do just to be sure there is no deterioration of the pads that could harm the flooring. These pads were easy to apply and are adhering well to the carpet.
