Just installed this unit. Almost perfection: The only real 'complaints' I have with it is the RDS info is too small as to be able to be useful to the driver at a glance. While it does work, and works well (better than the Kenwood DDX372BT this replaced) it is just too small. An annoyance as there is ample screen real estate that is being poorly utilized for things that don't need to be there. One other disappointment, but also not a deal breaker, is that the blue function button light is too bright for the night time and is not adjustable. Also, the screen must be manually dimmed at night. Again, not a deal breaker tho. I also have to manually dim my radar detector. But automatic would have been nice. But at this price point, I'm not complaining. The GPS is SA-WEET!!! It is on par with my laptop GPS program. The maps are Tom-Tom which I really like. The system has limits but also alot of what I consider bonus. Out of all the GPS I have had in the past and currently, I can honestly say I like this Boss GPS setup, hands down, the best. It is VERY fast to start and to re-calculate. When used side by side with my laptop, it is just as accurate. The backup camera (I used the Esky EC170-08 camera) is wonderful! Comes on when in reverse and off when in drive. VERY helpful! The hands free calling on the Kenwood DDX372BT was a crapshoot at best. People on the other end complained with quality issues, and this is with an external mic...The BV9384NV and its built in mic, the people on the other end have no issues with quality, but is quiet. Sounds fine they said. VERY important for me. The SD app works great! Always picks up where you left off when you turned the car off and went in the store. Very good sound, shows artwork, and easy to maneuver thru songs. Again, this is a very fast unit compared to the Kenwood. ***UPDATE*** Well, bought a second for the wife for her birthday - she is excited...Just got it installed, along with an AXXESS ASWC-1 for the steering wheel controls. This in a '07 Ford Freestyle with audiophile system. Alot cheaper than buying a new car! VERY pleased with both units! Highly recommended system! She really loves how it looks and sounds. ***UPDATE*** 9-25-16 - Absolutely LOVE this stereo! No issues and sounds fantastic! Still highly recommended! ***UPDATE***4/4/19 - YEARS later, I still LUV my BOSS!!! Still works as well as the day I installed it. BOTH of them!!! I still use mine daily for work. Couldn't be more pleased with the value/performance ratio!!! Getting ready to buy a 3rd for my kids car!
