The Best Inkjet Printer Yet for under $100
The Brother MFC-J480DW printer is absolutely fabulous and produces the best documents and photos I've seen in this price range. In fact, this Brother printer wanders well outside of its price range on the high end. This is the best printer I've ever had, and incredibly inexpensive, too. I know ink is expensive, and now all bets are off and whatever the going rate for ink is on this printer I will pay it. $12 for a black cartridge and $20-some for all three colors. The printer is very easy to set up, is very quiet and prints very crisp photos even on regular paper. The printer does not waste ink while idling, like some HP printers do, nor does it constantly make that very annoying clickety-click noise, needlessly burning up ink while idle. It powers up and powers down very quickly. The front panel is the best I have ever seen and the 2" LCD screen and easy to see and use buttons are the best I've ever used. All functions can be used without a computer, and the wireless capabilities are built-in and prints from your iPhone or Android device with easy pairing, as this printer also creates it's own hotspot with variable SSID's. I am very glad I got this printer instead of an HP or Canon, or even an Epson for that matter, as I was overwhelmed with choices. I have a WP-2410 Brother Word Processor from 1992 that is still working. This assures me that this printer will last long, too, as I like to be brand loyal and hate too many choices. The MFC-J480DW has separate bays for cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink. The paper tray locks into place, sealed below the unit. There is a 20-page sheet feeder on top for making copies independent of the computer. This printer also has built in Wi-fi, making this workstation very versatile and producing excellent, professional quality documents, even for every day use. The paper tray is adjustable for many different sizes and types of paper, including legal (11 x 14") and photo paper (4" x 6"). This is the first printer I've had since 1998 that is very efficient with ink usage and doesn't rip you off like HP printers. I also love the fact that this is an A/C printer, and not an A/C converted to D/C printer, which means you plug it right in and there is no bulky adapter. I give this printer my absolute top recommendation! (Included: printer, front sheet feeder, four ink colors, installation CD, RJ-11 phone cord for hardwired modem, quick-start guide, very good styrofoam packing, no USB cable).
