I got these pencils for my chalkboard art. Chalk markers do not allow for shading and regular chalk does not allow for crisp lines or intricate designs, so I wanted to find a pencil. I was looking for a chalk pencil at a decent price, but all I could find were either mechanical type pencils or they were too pricey. I decided to take a chance on these and I was happy to discover that they worked beautifully! I was worried that, if anything, I would not be able to erase these on a chalkboard. But they were no harder to erase than regular chalk. The lines are crisp and bright and I will never use anything else for my chalkboards! They are not marketed for chalkboards but if you're looking for something for yours, these are great!
