I suddenly had the desire to make sourdough bread. I had no idea how. So, yup, I googled that. Learned I needed to grow the culture. Read about purchasing a starter helper. Found this brand. Package arrived. Followed directions...only 5 days later I had a very active, bubbling culture. It could not have been any easier. I kept the culture in my kitchen where the temperature read 71 degrees. I made the bread per the package directions. Which was pretty good for a first attempt. Then I tried a more complicated recipe which had me fold dough instead of kneading. Wowza! My second attempt at sourdough bread was awesome. Who knew I was a baker? The bread had a great San Francisco sourdough flavor. Thanks to this culture starter I'm sure! My culture Larry is currently living in the fridge and I feed him weekly now. I'm working on my third attempt at bread tomorrow. If you're interested in this...rest assured you can do it!
