I'm on my 3rd electric wine opener and this one seems like the best one yet. First was a "Kirkland" branded from Costco which was pretty good. Next was a "Sharper Image" from Bed Bath & Beyond and it was a piece of junk. Ok, enough of the past and onto the current "Secura" wine opener. Right off the bat you'll notice that the Secura Stainless Steel Electric Wine Opener comes in a nicely appointed, gift appropriate box (vs blank bulk packaging) [pic1]. Everything was packed well and held secure within a foam cut frame [pic 2]. Included in the box is the wine opener, a foil cutter, a base to hold both, and a wall adapter. The Secura has plenty of torque and has pulled out every cork thus far effortlessly. I really like the clear end so you can see the cork. Other units this is a solid color and you cannot see what's happening inside in the event of a jam. While I haven't had the Secura fail yet, the clear head would be helpful in diagnosing any malfunctions. The Secura glows a pleasant blue color when charging and when in use. I think it looks great with our stainless appliances and granite counter tops [pic 3]. If you don't want the blue glow, you can either unplug the unit or just simply leave it off the charging stand.
