This is a very cool survival shovel. I really wanted to put this to the test, but it failed right out of the box. I flipped up the shovel, and the bolt fell apart. I assume it's due to the poor quality of the metal in the bolt. Everything else looks very well made, but had the bolt not broke right out of the box, what would happen if it I had to use this on the trail? Epic failure! I love the features, and the accessories look well built a d thought out. The sleek anodized aluminum handle feels really good in your hands. The blade of the shovel is sharp, and well designed. I don't understand why a company would build such a fine unit, but use a poor quality bolt to hold it together. Hopefully the vendor will replace the unit. I will update my review if they do. I could see this as a 5 star unit if the bolt would hold up. I tried to contact the seller to request a new bolt, but I received no response. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service.
