Where do I begin? I fear for most Turbo Tax customers who will continue buying this product without the knowledge that the product has now changed and several essential (to many customers ) schedules will be missing. By the time they realize this, it will have been too late and once software packages are opened, they cannot be returned. I am so angry that Turbo Tax did this without mentioning the change on the box for loyal customers who have been buying the product for many years. The way they went about it is just so shady. This decision was clearly made by some executive who isn't too bright. They are thinking that customers are so loyal and despite their product being far more expensive than any other comparable software from their competitors, people will still buy their product. 2014 is going to be a Hugh eye opener for Intuit, the makers of Turbo Tax. You should have just been honest and jacked up the price and left the versions the same. But by not disclosing the changes in versions to get the schedules you are used to getting really screws people who have been buying the same version for many, many years. The responses from BOB MEIGHAN, VP are just plain insulting and arrogant. He talks about being able to still fill out schedules manually...then why would anyone buy your product? They might as well goto the IRS website and download them for free. What a nonsensical response? Then he tries making an argument about having all their versions match ie. Online, disk, and download versions. That response is against , insulting. The cd version came first. You are changing the product that started it all so it would match the "other" products online, etc? It should be the other way around. You really didn't think your responses through and don't seem to care too much that many people who are loyal customers and have been for over a decade are vowing to no longer buy your product. I will follow suit and probably go with the $29.99 H & R block version that even imports Turbo Tax prior year returns instead of spending $89.99 to get the "new" comparable version. I am so upset at the way you went about this and had I not happened to come across an article mentioning the change, I would have bought Turbo Tax like I have for probably 10-15 years only to be surprised with your removal of important schedules. I have the fortunate connection to a local newspaper to get discounted advertising. I am going to spend the money to advertise not to buy Turbo Tax. I am going to explain your unscrupulous practices and promote H&R block. Hopefully Turbo Tax pays a very costly price for what they have done. I am sure this year's sales will take a hit, but next year will be much worse once people learn what Turbo Tax has done.
