Do not purchase this item. It was designed with a fuse that cannot be replaced without sending it to a service center. The first unit I purchased from Amazon worked for about 5 minutes when I plugged it in then stopped running. I thought I had a defective unit so returned to Amazon for a replacement. The replacement fared no better. It worked the first time I used it then, about 6 months later when I used it for the second time, the new unit stopped running. I then went on the Black and Decker site to see if I could identify the issue. To my surprise, there were multiple reviews stating the same issue. There is a fuse that easily blows inside the unit that is not customer replaceable. It has to be sent to a service center, which costs more than the unit itself. It is also a very poor design - the AC cord has to be taken out of the storage in order to access the on/off switch. The electric cord is about a foot long so you always need an extension cord. I don't understand why B&D hasn't recalled this product.
