We purchased this pitcher 3 weeks ago and it worked great! We were so excited that the meter read Zero.... for about 8 days. Then we noticed that the water started tasting rancid - sort of sour with a mild fishy smell. We were disgusted and thought that something was wrong with that particular filter. So we tried another... it too lasted about 8 days before we got that same horrible taste and smell again. We tested the water: 482!!! That was worst than our tap water! So we went online and finally began reading some reviews. The ONLY people who rave about Zero Water are folks who only just bought it and have been using it less than a week. Everyone who has had this product for more than 10 days has complained about the very same sour taste and fishy smell. Don't waste your time or especially your money!!! You've been warned. ETA: Some customers have responded saying that those who noted the fishy smell didn't change their filter often enough... well, if I need to change the filter on my water pitcher EVERY EIGHT (8) DAYS for it to work well this is definitely NOT the product for me as my last name is neither Trump nor Hilton. ETA 5/14: Soon after dumping Zero Water I switched to another popular (non-zero water) brand and have been happily drinking my great tasting filtered water, changing out my filter every 3 months vs 3 weeks (who the hell needs a filter product you have to change every 3 weeks?!). I also have said "I told you so" to several friends whom decided to try zero water themselves adn ended up experiencing that same awful fishy taste. And to the persons who say it's because we didn't clean the pitcher - I don't know what sort of nasty people you know, but folks I know (including myself) wash our dishes. That zero water pitcher was cleaned after it was emptied, every time. It still had that terrible fishy taste around day 10 of a new filter. THOSE OF YOU WHO BOUGHT THE KOOL-AID, good for you, if you're happy be happy, but the number of people who have experienced (and reported) this awful product equals the number who claim to love it, and statistically that's really really bad science.
