Not that eco-friendly after all
If you're like me, you're looking to make environmentally sound consumer choices. I purchased these bags last year, and while they lasted quite a long time, I've discovered that most of the bio bags available, including these, are only considered biodegradable due to the use of chemical additives that advance decomposition into bits. This means that while the bag breaks down, it doesn't actually dissolve. Instead, it is reduced to tiny micro-plastics. These are quite harmful for humans and the environment. These bio products don't disappear, or feed the earth in their decomposition, they just take another shape. It requires quite a bit of research to get to the truth of these processes and the companies that make these products aren't very transparent. Unfortunately I'm still on the hunt for large sized, zero impact, (or positive impact! imagine that.. ) trash bags.
