MADE IN CHINA, boo.
I bought these a year or so ago and were very happy with their quality and use.
I just received another set I ordered at the time of this post. Unfortunately, and after so much hype and pontificating about how this company was USA Made and owned by an American father and his son, or whatever, this latest batch was Made in China and has less quality-looking cross-stitching at the clamps (the old version the stitching was straight and fine, the new one is crooked and thick and looks less clean). Disappointed that once again profit has taken a front seat to the boasting of being genuinely 'home made', and to be celebrating for this. They still call their company RHINO USA, even when the product is not made here. The little tag on the straps have been changed from Rhino Straps (which were silkscreened in a nice tight clean font), to Rhino USA (the silkscreen stamp looking less precise and clean looking). Rhino USA, indeed.
Why hasn't the selling price been lowered?
I hope they work. Would hate for one of the bikes in the van, strapped to the bike behind my wife by the Chinese-made version, break, while the other USA-made version hold should we have a head-on collision. I guess now I have to make a conscious decision as to which straps to use (USA vs Chinese) on which bike is behind myself or hers.
Can we not just once be offered a product with the highest possible consistent quality and pay what it's worth?
Made in the People's Republic of China.
Boo.
